Rasmus Storgaard, head of the local fire department, said firefighters left the scene shortly after midnight and would return to the scene Thursday morning for a final inspection. He said the fire started Wednesday morning local time in Novo Nordisk's Bagswald Park and damaged only 1800 square meters of buildings.

Novo Nordisk said on Thursday that the remaining parts of the structure, which were not used for production, would be removed. The headquarters building was not affected and there were no casualties. Police said it could take days or weeks to determine the cause, but there was no indication it was a criminal act.
